The new medicine by the assurance of scientists from Boston University is capable, albeit only in the plans, to cure almost any virus. Perhaps soon we’ll witness the panacea. One of the first promises of data scientists is the ability to easily cure tuberculosis.
According to scientists from Boston, United States, they made a revolutionary discovery. At Northeastern University in Boston, scientists, by growing the bacteria in laboratory conditions in the soil, have opened a new, unique in their opinion, an antibiotic called teixobactin, which affects even those microorganisms, which was not observed reaction. This means that teikstobaktin will deal with such viruses, which previously could not cope.
The researchers believe their discovery unique and compare it with the opening of the well-known antibiotic vancomycin, open in the fifties, but unfortunately in the 80 th years of the last century, some bacteria have been able to resist its effects.
Scientists have conducted successful tests of a new antibiotic in mice infected with a serious infection. Medicine without encountering any appreciable resistance, which provides the ability to create entirely new methods of dealing with bacteria that are resistant to conventional antibiotics.
«The opening of this new connection is the key to solving the problem of long-standing scientific belief and holds great promise for the treatment of infections carrying a global threat, “- said Kim Lewis, a professor at Northeastern University, USA, and co-founder NovoBiotic Pharmaceuticals, patented teikstobaktin.
The researchers believe that the antibiotic, which has not yet been tested on humans once can be used for the treatment of drug-resistant infections caused by superbugs MSRA, and tuberculosis. Last usually requires a combination of drugs that may have adverse side effects, writes Reuters.
The pharmaceutical company NovoBiotic gathered about 50,000 strains of bacteria and found 25 new antibiotics, of which teiksobaktin is the latest and most interesting.
Scientists hope to conduct human clinical trials within two years.
