Business will ask Putin to postpone the law on personal data – RBC

The proposal Dmitry Marinichev made in the report that the business ombudsman Boris Titov, will present to President Vladimir Putin on May 26 Forum “Business Russia”.

Marinichev doubt that the regulations will be announced soon. Internet Ombudsman believes that foreign companies are not prepared for the localization of their data.

The representative Boris Titov confirmed that provision of personal data is in the report. Information on what part of the proposals received a positive response last year, will be presented in the new document until such statistics is not, he said.

With Marinicheva disagree deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party Vadim Dengin, one of the authors of the bill. According to him, there are companies that are ready to organize the storage and processing of personal data in Russia for three months. “This bill – a safety issue, and if we postpone it, it infringes on the rights of its citizens,” – said RBC Dengin.

The development of regulations is completed, they are now agreed by interested agencies and will be submitted to the Government within the prescribed period He told RBC representative of the Ministry of Communications. Regulatory documents appear until June 1, 2015, a source told RBC, close to the Ministry of Communications.

The law “On personal data”, personal data must not be stored on the servers of Russian citizens abroad, Vladimir Putin signed December 31, 2014. It shall enter into force on 1 September 2015, although it was initially planned that the new rules will come into force a year later.
