The salamander belongs to the species Andrias davidianus. This meant more than 180 million years old, it is one of the largest and oldest, surviving, amphibians.
Representative of this type of local fisherman accidentally caught in a closed karst caves near the town. Salamander transferred to the Research Center of Chongqing for further research.
