At Baikonur delivered the first spacecraft "Express-AM5" - ITAR-TASS

The first spacecraft “Express-AM5″, based on the platform used heavy class, delivered today from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Krasnoyarsk. In the near future the specialists of “Information Satellite Systems Academician Reshetnev” / ASC /, located in the Krasnoyarsk region, together with the staff of the cosmodrome will start work on its preparation for the launch, which is scheduled for December 26.

“Express-AM5″ – the first spacecraft, based on the platform used heavy class “Express-2000″ developed by ISS. The parameters of the new platform were not disclosed. However, we know that the new satellite, created by order of the national operator “Satellite Communications”, designed to provide digital television and radio broadcasting in the territory of Russia, problem solving mobile presidential and governmental communications. It will also ensure the provision of a package of communications services – voice, video conferencing, data transmission, Internet access, and the creation of communication networks based on the technology of VSAT.

spacecraft, designed and built in the ASC, make up two-thirds of Russian orbital grouping. In November 2013 the orbital grouping of spacecraft development and manufacturing company employs 79 spacecraft. Of these, its purpose operate 53 satellites.
