Roscosmos and Ukrainian astronomers finally agreed to continue joint study exploring outer space. As a result of long negotiations, Roskosmos promised Ukrainian experts that the satellite “Lybid”, first released by Ukrainian specialists, the Russians sent into orbit.
Roskosmos will orbit earth satellite “Lybid” under the terms of the fact that Ukrainian astronomers will serve rocket “Zenith” at the cosmodrome “Baikonur”. Together with the Russian program to explore Mars involved the United States. Service rockets will deal Pivdenmash Ukrainian company.
Lybid – the first Ukrainian geostationary telecommunications satellite. Designed for the formation of the National satellite communication system of Ukraine.
The satellite is designed to provide services to regional and international broadcasting, direct broadcasting, providing multimedia services and the Internet, as well as data transmission, telephony, video conferencing and Internet-based VSAT.
The Ukrainian government has already issued all the necessary permits for the direction of Ukrainian experts, who will serve the rocket launch “Zenith»
– We have received from the Ukrainian authorities all permits required to send a team of technicians to service the rocket launch “Zenith” from Baikonur in July this year – said “Izvestiya” CEO Sergei Yuzhmash Voight. – This is a peaceful space, and in this area we will continue to cooperate with Russia. It should be said that Roscosmos not sure about the cooperation with Pivdenmash. Because of the military situation in the Donbas Russia had to be postponed indefinitely rocket launch. The Russians were looking for a replacement Ukrainian company, but apparently never found.
