Turning to the crew of the cruiser “Varyag”, Metropolitan Benjamin stressed the importance that the consecration of the temple took place in marching momentous day – the 110th anniversary of the feat sailors of the cruiser “Varyag” and the gunboat “Korean”. “Exploit sailors” Varyag “still serves as an example of heroism and patriotism” – said Bishop Benjamin.

Then branch of the museum fleet “Voroshilov battery” on the Russian island, an exhibition that tells the story of the death of the destroyer 208th Siberian flotilla. He was blown up by a mine off the coast of the Japanese island of Russian July 4, 1904 and then sank. The exhibition presents the items raised by divers from the sunken destroyer, searchers discovered in 2011 and 2012.

February 9, 1904 (January 27 old style), the first day of Russian-Japanese War, the Korean port Chemulpo – now Incheon – cruiser “Varyag” and the gunboat “Korean” entered into an unequal battle 14 Japanese destroyers.
