In the Arctic drifting station evacuated - Russian Newspaper

drifting station “North Pole-40″ (SP-40) to be evacuated early this year. It is reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNR).

preparations are underway for the evacuation of the SP-40, presumably at the end of next week it will go to the ice-breaker. Probably the ice base will move to Cape Baranova (Fr. Bolshevik Severnaya Zemlya archipelago).

Many developed at research stations will be continued, but in a slightly different conditions. And in September, is expected to start operation of the new drifting station “SP-41″.
