Indian lunar rover on the probe "Luna-Resource" may replace "Bauman" - Reuters

MOSCOW, Oct. 16 – RIA Novosti. Place Indian mini-rover aboard a Russian lunar probe “Luna-Resource” may take the Russian lunar rover, created by students of the Bauman Technical University, told RIA Novosti deputy principal designer of NGOs Lavochkin Maxim Martynov.

Earlier versions of the Russian lunar program stipulated that on board a Russian vehicle “Luna-Resource”, the launch of which is now scheduled for 2019, the moon will leave a small lunar rover, created by Indian scientists. Later, however, due to changes in the Russian lunar program of this option declined.

“Indian lunar rover will not, but there were proposals to replace it with Russia, possibly from Bauman. yet there is no project, it’s just one of our plans,” – said the Martynov.

He added that the lunar rover will not perform complex tasks. “Basically it will be Stitch and” tray of some interesting pieces of ground, “- he added.
