Russia's first lunar machine will go into space no earlier than 2016 - RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, Oct. 15 – RIA Novosti. The first Russian lunar machine – easy boarding “Luna-Glob” (“Luna-25″) – go to the moon until 2016, previously scheduled for launch on 2015, the director of the Institute of Space Research Leo Green.

According to him, the first landing probe is designed primarily for developing technical solutions used in the landing platform.

Next machine – orbiter “Luna-Resource” (formerly “Luna-Glob-2″) – will go into space in 2018, and the heavy landing probe “Luna-Resource” (Luna-27) – in 2019.

He noted that the planned landing probes sent to the polar regions of the moon, has not yet decided which of the vehicles will travel to the South Pole, and what – to the north.

Planting “Luna-Resource” will be equipped with a drill setting that is supposed to create with the participation of European scientists.
