British scientists have calculated the temperature required to boil water on a number of planets and satellites.
Researchers from the British University of Leicester said that Titan (Saturn) is the most convenient place for tea throughout the solar system beyond Earth. It is reported portal BFM.ru referring to the publication in the Journal of Physics Special Topics.
scientists took into account the atmospheric pressure at the surface of Venus, Mars and Earth, and the moons of Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune. Not counting the winner in the competition participated Triton and Callisto. Experts have tried to calculate at what temperature will boil 1 mol of water (about 18 ml). Best indicator was detected on Titan: 384 Kelvin (119.85 degrees Celsius).
Thus the moon water for tea will boil at a temperature of 111 Kelvin (minus 162 degrees Celsius). This temperature is 50 degrees warmer than the liquid nitrogen, and the beverage prepared in such circumstances can lead to problems with the stomach. Mars can wait boiling temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, and the tea party is unlikely to be pleasant, but still possible. On Venus, the water reaches the desired state at 273 degrees Celsius, and the conditions for tea comparable to earth at an altitude of about 50 km.
December 27 NASA spoke about a new robot that will explore the surface of Titan.
