Despite the fact that the planet is not seen from Earth through a telescope, scientists have calculated its intended location. Between the planet and the Alpha Centauri about 80 astronomical units (the distance from the Earth to the Sun). One revolution of the planets round the world takes 100 Earth years. The first planet in the Alpha Centauri system was discovered in 2012, astronomers at the European Southern Observatory.
