Russian satellite “Ray” launched into an intermediate orbit – Russian News Service


                         The unit in conjunction with the upper stage “Breeze-M” was separated from the third stage of the launch vehicle “Proton”, which was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Derivation of the satellite to the calculated orbit is scheduled for 9:26 MSK. This is the fifth this year with the launch of “Proton” and the first since the May accident this missile. According to the Russian Federal Space Agency, with the beginning of the full extent of the correction system navigation signal “Ray” the accuracy of GLONASS in Russia may be less than one meter in 2014. Thus, it will be comparable to the accuracy of positioning American GPS.
