According to the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Public Works Pyotr Biryukov, approximately half of the hiking trail no car traffic, and the remainder is expanded sidewalks. He noted that, for example, in the alley Holzunova sidewalks were extended from one meter to three and a half.
Biryukov estimated cost of the work to create this pedestrian zone is about 170 million rubles.
Deputy mayor also announced the completion of landscaping adjacent to the new pedestrian route streets – Frunze Embankment and Komsomolsk prospectus.
