In the course of the 7th international conference administrators and registrars of domain of CIS, Central and Eastern Europe (TLDCON 2014), held in Baku, he said that by 2020 the number of top-level domains can grow to 20,000 with about 1 thousand now time.

As of today, about 200 valid country and common top-level domains within the framework of New gTLD (new top-level domains) should be delegated to another 1900 domain.

The growing number of top-level domains to 20 thousand will require new technical solutions that enable switching between all domain zones.

In general, the participants believe that the new domains a good future. According to various estimates, the share of new domains in the next 3-4 years will reach 10-25%.
