Chinese "jade rabbit" flew over the lunar soil - NTV.ru

China successfully put into orbit “Jade Hare”. So named first in the history of China rover. The satellite was launched from Baikonur in the south-west of the country. “Jade Hare” is fixed to the board of the automatic station “Chang’e”, which received its name in honor of the ancient goddess of the moon. This tandem is destined to land on the moon’s surface in mid-December.

Rover itself is a six-wheeled self-propelled platform weighing 100 kilograms. He is able to move at a speed of 200 meters per hour. The mission is designed for three months. The device will collect soil samples and send them to Earth.
