This is the conclusion of experts of organizations from the American Psychological Association, Yale University, USA, analyzing the results of a recent study.
It was attended by several hundred people who ask questions and allowed to search them answers (if participants could not give them unassisted) on the Internet. Many, claiming that versed in the subject, rushed to computers ostensibly to check their knowledge.
In this experiment, participants felt that information on the Internet is part of their own knowledge. And do not even find on the web right answer, the subjects believed that during his search learned a lot on a given topic.
That was also wrong. Later, experts checked the participants’ knowledge on the subject, which they recently monitor on various Internet resources. Participants in 80 percent of cases could not give a clear answer, and finally admitted their incompetence.
