The new, already the eighth in Russia (after “Rostec”, “Rusnano” “Rosatom”, “Olympstroy” Housing Reform Fund, Vnesheconombank and the Deposit Insurance Agency), a state corporation headed by former CEO ACCD Igor Komarov, who on January 21, was appointed head of the space agency. It will bring together all enterprises, institutions and other organizations within the ACCD and Roscosmos. It is expected that this consolidation will increase the efficiency of the state management of the sector following the example of other state corporations (primarily “Rosatom”), will increase the economic impact of scientific and professional societies, aligning administrative and operational functions.

As explained at the meeting Commission Komarov, legal registration of the state corporation “Roscosmos” should take no more than six months – Federal Space Agency to draw up an action plan for its creation and for submission to the government. Until May the authorities will be proposed draft Federal Space Program (FCP) for 2016-2025 year. Legal registration of new corporation to be completed in the next six months. The new corporation will be able to participate in the development and introduction of laws relating to the space industry, will have the right to own property and the freedom to dispose of property funds.

As priorities, he called the development of deep space, the completion of the orbital group, the creation of superheavy missiles and Russian space station. “The problem we have one – be the first. We need to achieve superiority over geopolitical partners in terms of technology,” – he said.
