Astronauts were allowed to return to the US segment of the ISS – Lenta.ru

Experts in charge of the situation on the ISS, astronauts were allowed to return to the US segment of the station. The decision was made by all parties involved in the project. This was reported in the blog NASA.

The experts examined the data obtained in several ways, and found no signs of leakage of ammonia found. Previously raised alarm, experts explain the errors of one of the computer systems. All members of the station crew feel good, threats to their lives do not believe in NASA.

At about 11:44 Moscow time there was a pressure drop of coolant in the US segment of the ISS. At the junction with US segment Functional Cargo Block “Zarya” triggered smoke detectors and fire. NASA has not confirmed the leakage of ammonia in the atmosphere of the ISS, but approximately at 12:00 gave the command of the American segment of the astronauts to transfer to the Russian segment and isolate it.

Later, the agency TASS transferred that foreign astronauts can stay overnight in Russian segment of the ISS, with reference to the report of the ISS flight engineer cosmonaut Alexander Samokutyaeva Oleg Ostapenko, head of the Russian Federal Space Agency. Roskosmos head Oleg Ostapenko told the media that the evacuation of the crew to the ISS is not planned.

Who is the International Space Station is six people: Alexander Samokutyaev, Elena Serov and American Barry Wilmore, and a new crew of Anton Shkaplerova, US citizen Terry Vertsa and Italian Samantha Cristoforetti.
