The largest Russian producer of trucks KAMAZ funds together with domestic software developer for Cognitive Technologies began work on a project for the production of unmanned vehicles. The prototype model is created by the early summer of this year.
According to the head of the Cognitive Technologies Olga Uskov possible volume
investment in this project could reach 12 billion rubles. In 2014, Cognitive
Technologies became the winner of the Ministry under the Federal Program "Research
and development in priority areas of science and technology
Complex of Russia for 2014-2020. ».
The head of the press service of the concern KAMAZ Oleg Afanasyev noted that the company was
analyzed the potential demand for unmanned trucks, in
which found that it is quite high.
As a result, the company Cognitive Technologies will undertake the development and creation
module with which it will be possible to provide unmanned control
technique even in severe weather conditions and lack of road
markup. State to develop the project has been allocated an amount of 300
mln. rubles. In 2017 is expected to launch a pilot project in Tatarstan.
