According to the “MK” in TsAGI, a new model of medium-haul aircraft has no analogues in the world. It is distinguished by two major innovations. The first innovation experts – wing, allowing to ensure that the air flow around, in which the surface of the aircraft does not appear random velocity fluctuations and pressure – the flight takes place more smoothly. The second difference – the location of the engines on top of the wing.
This choice is dictated by the scientists of the institute desire to reduce the noise from airplanes flying over the territories adjacent to airports. In the new arrangement, the noise from the fans of the power plant is reflected wings up before reaching the ground. Transfer of the motor upward in addition to reducing noise reduces the likelihood of foreign objects from the runway during take-off and gives the possibility to reduce the length of the landing gear and thereby facilitate the design.
Studies of the new model will continue in the summer.
