Start carrier rocket “Proton-M” is postponed for a day because of bad weather – BBC Russian

Launch rocket “Proton-M” spacecraft “Express AMU1″ postponed for a day due to adverse weather conditions at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, said Roscosmos.

Start was originally scheduled for 00:30 MSK December 24 (21:30 GMT December 23), but was postponed due to the force of the wind that exceeded a threshold.

Now the launch is scheduled for December 25 at 00: 31 MSK.

The telecommunication spacecraft “Express AMU1″ made European concern Astrium commissioned by the Russian state-owned enterprise “Space communication”.

The satellite will be operated for 15 years and will serve area Russia, Europe and sub-Saharan Africa.

“Express AMU1″ will be the third HTS-satellite FSUE “Russian Satellite Communications” and the fourth spacecraft heavy class as part of the satellite group companies.
