Carrier rocket “Proton-M” and the upper stage “Breeze-M” put into orbit a Russian communications satellite “Express AMU1.” See footage launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, which was held at 00.31 MSK.
The satellite “Express AMU1″ will be located at the orbital position 36 degrees East The spacecraft is equipped with 70 transponders (antenna relay) and will provide coverage of the European part of Russia in the Ku- and Ka-bands, as well as the provision of telecommunications services and broadcasting in Africa.
“Express AMU1″ will actually third HTS-satellite FSUE “Russian Satellite Communications” (RSCC), while the fourth spacecraft heavy class as part of the satellite constellation RSCC.
All in all, a part of the updated satellite constellation FSUE “Russian Satellite Communications” is now working 12 communications and broadcasting satellites, including 3 new satellites heavy class (Express-AM5, -AM6 and -AM7).
On the eve of the launch of the carrier rocket “Proton-M” has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions – Strong winds near the launch pad at Baikonur.
