One of the supervisors of the project “Ekzomars” Daniel Rodionov told reporters that Russia will create a landing platform for exploring Mars, ESA – Mars rover. These works will be carried out in the framework of the mission, “Ekzomars 2018″, which are engaged in the implementation of Europe and Russia.

In addition to creating the lander for the Mars mission, the experts of the Institute of Space Research will be engaged in the development of innovative equipment for the project. According to Rodionov, Russia will create a large part of what the mission requires “Ekzomars 2018″.

Under the agreement between the Russian Space Agency and the European Space Agency, Russia will deliver to Mars landing platform and innovative ESA rover, which weight be less than 300 pounds. Domestic experts plan to create tools for the orbital module Trace Gas Orbiter, which will be used to study the Martian atmosphere and the distribution of water ice in the soil of this planet. Both instruments will be collected until the end of the year and transferred skilled European Space Agency.

Later Russian scientists will collect two more devices to be installed on the Mars Rover. After the last will be launched to Mars using the domestic unit, it will carry out research.
