This is the first replenishment of the periodic table of chemical elements in 2011.
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry announced the inclusion of four new elements in the periodic system of chemical elements (periodic table) According to “Interfax”, referring to The Wall Street Journal.
The new elements with atomic numbers 113, 115, 117, and 118 so far are conventional names ununtrity, Ununpentium, Ununseptium and ununoctium.
All four elements were obtained in laboratory conditions.
This is the first replenishment of the periodic table in 2011 and the first, when the new element was discovered by scientists from Asia: the 113th element was discovered in 2004, scientists from the Institute of Physics -chemical Japan Research (RIKEN).
The other elements were derived from the work of scientists from Russia’s Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California.
