Found depression management mechanisms – REGNUM

Ottawa, February 16, 2016, 16:01 – REGNUM Neuroscientists Canada and France have revealed the mechanisms and biochemistry of depression. The results of their work are published in the journal Nature Neuroscience.

Scientists have found, the activity of the type of neurons corresponds to depression and find the type of neurons that controls their activity.

In addition, the researchers found, substances which act on both types of neurons. With these substances the level of regulation in the body, researchers hope to create a method of management of stress and depression, and to explain the difference, with which different people react to stressful situations.

Research has combined a genetic, optogeneticheskoe (activated neurons light exposure) and pharmacological direction. The authors believe that the results open up broad prospects for the development of effective means for the prevention of depression.
