“Roskosmos” searches insurer to launch the “Proton” with “exomars” – RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, February 21 – RIA Novosti. “Roscosmos” has announced an open competition among insurers with the initial (maximum) contract price 171.447 million rubles of insurance risks launch rocket “Proton-M” with the space apparatus “exomars”, follows from the materials placed on the public procurement portal.

The launch of “Proton” spacecraft “exomars” the first stage is scheduled for March 14, 2016 from Baikonur.

Insurance risk, according to the procurement documentation are – total loss of the carrier rocket “Proton” booster “Briz-M”, fairing 14S75 for emergency launch a space rocket in the period from the moment of its start-up and before the separation of the spacecraft “exomars” on given trajectory (or to establish the fact of non-output or the inability to launch spacecraft into orbit).

it is noted that the insurance amount is 2,143 billion rubles.

exoMars 2016 (exomars 2016) is the first in the history of European-Russian mission to search for life on Mars.
