 In the first one hundred World Reputation Ranking ranking British publication Times Higher Education three Russian universities were in 2016: Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg State University (State University) and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), reports the BBC Russian Service.

 Last year, in the first rankings were only two hundred Russian university – Moscow State University and St. Petersburg State University. Moscow State University in the ranking was on the 30th place, dropping five places compared to 2015.

 St. Petersburg State University was in a group of universities, located on the 81-90 th places. Last year, he was in a group of 71-80.

 MIPT is in the end of the rating – in a group of 91-100

 Three leaders consists of American universities. The first place for several years takes Harvard University. In second place was the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is still ranked fourth last year. Troika closes Stanford University, who a year ago was fifth.

 World Reputation Ranking is based on interviews of university teachers. This year it was attended by 10 thousand. People from 133 countries around the world. Every scientist asked to name the 15 universities, which, in his opinion, are the best in the study and teaching of the discipline, which he does.

 Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia needs its own assessment criteria for determining the ranking of higher education institutions.
