Philadelphia, USA, August 1, 2016, 13:03 – REGNUM American scientists from Drexel University have developed a method using an electromagnetic field capable of making tiny robots move at high speed in a liquid medium, according to Scientific reports magazine.
scientists believe that they could use these devices in future work in the blood vessels.
the nanobots, consisting of a chain of round particles move under the influence of the electromagnetic field causes these particles to spin like a propeller. The longer the chain, the more speed it can develop. The longest such an arrangement was made up of 13 particles and moving at a speed of 17.85 micrometers per second. an external magnetic field rotation speed is determined by the velocity of the chain and its high frequency devices provoked division into shorter chains. In addition, the change in the direction of the magnetic forces could make two robots move in opposite directions.
Experiment The authors believe that their development can be used for construction of drug delivery systems within the body, and for surgical operations. Nanobots could easily cope with the task of veins treatment and arteries by cholesterol plaques and clots of blood cells
