The remains of a giant penguin that lived about 40 million years ago, scientists hit – Information Portal 2×2.su

Experts have noted that the 2-meter find no precedent in the history of science

Now the largest emperor penguin grows to 1 4 meters. It weighs barely reaches 46 kg. And imagine that 40 million years ago, the rise of these birds reached two meters, and weight – 115 kg. The remains of one of these penguins found Argentine scientists on the Antarctic island of Seymour.

It is known that the remains are well preserved penguin, bird already attributed to a new species with a Latin name Palaeeudyptes klekowskii.
