The work plan includes several tasks. Astronauts have to be dismantled and push EVA radiometric complex of Kazakhstan 21-8 and antenna 2ASF1-1 and 2ASF1-2 with MIM-2 module.
Radiometric complex was mounted on the outer surface of the ISS in 2011 the experiment, “Microwave radiometry.” With it the first time scientists have obtained data on the use of UHF waves to assess soil moisture, vegetation biomass and salinity of the seas from space.
Russian cosmonauts will also remove the protective cover monoblock «Expose-R», within the space of the experiment “Test” to take samples, swabs from a window overhead 2 docking module SB-1 and spend photographing the outer surface of the ISS. This will be the 40th spacewalk by Russian ISS program.
But, she wrote Elena Serova eve of the release of colleagues in the open space in the “mailbox ISS astronauts”: “Many people think that the age of the knights has sunk into fly, but it is absolutely not true! And now there are the true knights of modernity, but they have little other armor – real space with gauntlets. But they do not fight with each other and with the abyss of the universe, throwing her a call. I think it’s great! See how yesterday the astronauts of the ISS-41/42 Maxim Shur, Alexander Samokutyayev preparing for the spacewalk … They will have to spend on the outer surface of the station for about six hours. Let’s wish to Maxim and Alexander luck! »
