MOSCOW, Oct. 25 – RIA Novosti. A powerful solar flare of class X 3.1, which occurred at 01.41 MSK on October 25 can cause magnetic storm on Earth on October 27, according to RIA Novosti, the representative of the Institute of Applied Geophysics.

“It is worth noting that during the outbreak of class X3 is not fixed emission flux of protons, besides a coronal mass ejection, too, was not as powerful as it could be. We now specify any parameters, perform calculations effects can this lead to a serious outbreak of magnetic storms on Earth, “- he said.

Previous powerful flash on our star class X1 happened on October 19, but did not lead to a magnetic storm.

Solar flares depending on the power of X-rays are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M, and X. The minimum class A0.0 corresponds to the radiation power of the Earth’s orbit in NW 10 per square meter. In the transition to the next letter in the power increases 10 times. Outbreaks are usually accompanied by emission of solar plasma clouds which, reaching the Earth, can trigger magnetic storms.
