In honor of the anniversary of the Hermitage on the main Google search page will be updated the company logo – the so-called doodle depicting the facade of St. Petersburg museum.

On the eve of the 250th anniversary of the Hermitage on the facade of the museum has been shown the light show. On Sunday, will lay flowers at the gravestone of Catherine the Great in the Peter and Paul Cathedral.

The date of foundation of the Hermitage is considered to 1764, when the Russian Empress Catherine II acquired a collection of over 200 works of art from the German merchant, originally collected for the Prussian King Friedrich II .

Now the museum’s collection of 3 million artifacts – a painting, drawing, sculpture and applied arts.
