People from different parts of the world saw the “bloody” moon – MagCity74

Thousands of people, including Magnitogorsk, October 8, observed an unusual phenomenon.

A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is on the same axis between the Moon and the Sun, and its shadow completely covers the natural satellite. Moon at this point becomes dark red hue, which is why it is called the “bloody.” This is the second total lunar eclipse this year.

As previously noted astronomers in Russia this eclipse can be observed mainly in the eastern half of the country. In the Far East and the extreme north-eastern regions of the eclipse will be seen in full, and in the Urals, Western and Eastern Siberia Moon rise already during the eclipse.

A live broadcast of the total lunar eclipse, organized NASA, watched more than 12 million Internet users.
In addition, social networks have appeared tens of thousands of photos with the hashtag #LunarEclipse («lunar eclipse” – approx.’s) and #redmoon («Red Moon” – approx.’s). The next total eclipse will begin April 4, 2015.
