This station will expand the review of the territory of Russia, as well as better control of the Arctic latitudes. In addition, it can be used in the future for the implementation of the program of flights to the moon.
« We consider the option of establishing a high-latitude stations, which can be observed 90% of the territory of Russia. It can be a base for future lunar expeditions , – told journalists on Monday the head of the Russian Federal Space Agency Oleg Ostapenko. – The high space station will be able to fully control these (arctic) latitudes. Without the attention it leaves will not. Not only to work VSHS, but in other areas. It will be incorporated in the Federal Space Program ».
Recall that in November Roskosmos issued a denial appeared in the press rumors about plans to create their own high-altitude space station.
