Venus, Jupiter and Mars formed a parade of planets that can be seen in the night sky in most of the northern hemisphere. This rare configuration of planets, dictated by their position in orbit around the sun, will last until the end of the week.
It is best to observe it before sunrise, and the closest one to the other planets will be located on Thursday. The next time a parade of planets will happen only in January 2021.
Jupiter and Venus will begin moving closer to Mars, and the three planets that are visible as bright stars, the whole week will form a bright triangle. Best of all it will be visible on Wednesday morning, before sunrise. To monitor the triangle does not need any special equipment. The planets will be visible from Earth as the twinkling stars.
However, the medium-power binoculars closer look, and it will give a better view of the planetary triangle. In good pair of binoculars you can even see 4 satellites of Jupiter – Io, Ganymede, Callisto and Europe. To do this is to put the binoculars on a tripod. Every morning, the configuration of the satellites will be different, experts say NASA.
Venus will appear brighter than Jupiter, although it sounds illogical. Giant is much farther away from Earth, so little Venus will glow in the night sky stronger. Mars will be the most lackluster of the three, as it will be a little colored red.
Pass that Venus will be a little bigger and brighter, and Jupiter will be incredibly close. Most dim in the sky will be Mars, but due to its proximity to the bright Venus and Jupiter, it can be easily identified.
All three celestial bodies in clear weather will be visible to the naked eye. Search the world should be near the constellation Leo.
Also, with the help of binoculars you can see and the four moons of Jupiter – Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. However, in order to see them, amateur astronomers will need a tripod.
