ISS found pathogens – REGNUM

Washington, 27 October 2015, 15:52 – REGNUM The presence of pathogenic bacteria recorded on board the ISS. This is evidenced by the results of analyzes of air and dust collected on the space station, says the magazine Microbiome.

Clarifies that the ISS identified microbes can cause serious diseases working on the ISS cosmonauts and astronauts. Predicting the behavior of microorganisms in weightlessness is not so simple, because conditions on the space station, in particular, carbon dioxide concentration, the density of light differ significantly from conventional terrestrial indicators.

Recall that at the present time on board a manned space station ISS is a crew of Russian cosmonauts Sergei Volkov, Michael Kornienko Oleg Kononenko and astronaut Scott Kelly (USA), Chella Lindgren (USA) and Kimia Yui (Japan).
