A student of Moscow State University became the absolute champion of the international biological Universiade – Lenta.ru

Moscow State University named after Lomonosov (MGU) summed up the fifth international bio Universiade, the overall winner of which was the third-year students of the biological faculty of Moscow State University, Daniel Nikitin, reports Tass.

Among the winners in the individual competition there are representatives of the Belarusian State University and the University of Wroclaw (Poland), as well as the youngest member of the Universiade – first-year student of biological faculty of Moscow State University Alcuin Nikita.

The Universiade was attended by 46 teams from universities with departments of biological, medical, agricultural and biotechnology direction, from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Iran and Poland. Universiade in 2015 was held in two stages. At the individual step 186 participants carried out written assignments, which included elements of biotechnology, bioengineering, molecular biology, genetics, plant physiology. At the command stage, the participants defended the project in one of the four sections of the report presentation on the topic selected from the list. To make the presentation and preparation of the report it was given six o’clock.

In the section on the English team won the biological faculty of Moscow State University, second place won the team of the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics, Moscow State University, the third place was shared by teams of Belarus, Iran and Kazakhstan.

Among the winners in the other sections – the team of the Faculty of Basic Medicine, Moscow State University, Faculty of Biology, Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, Novosibirsk State University, Arzamas branch of the Nizhny Novgorod State University, Saratov State University, Belgorod State University and the team Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (Obninsk Branch).
