China to build plant to animal cloning – BBC Russian

In the Chinese province of Tianjin plans to build the world’s largest plant for the cloning of animals, according to the management committee of the Tianjin area of ​​economic and technological development.

The company, in which construction is planned to invest 200 million yuan (31.3 million dollars), will include a laboratory, the center cloned animals “gene bank” and an exhibition hall.

The Committee on the development of the province signed an agreement with Yingke Boya Gene Technology, owned by Chinese Group Boyalife, a leader in the country to study the properties of stem cells.

It is reported that the construction of the main body of the plant has already begun. The list of animals that are planning to clone, includes office and domestic dogs, cows and running horse.

Now it is assumed that part of the production plant will be put up for sale.

According to the group Boyalife Xu Xiaochun, the design capacity of the plant involves the production of 100 thousand. bovine embryos in a year – it will help solve the problem of shortage of beef in the domestic market.

China’s first company engaged in the commercial cloning of animals, was established in 2014 by a group of Boyalife and now Sooam Biotech. Its first product were three puppies purebred Tibetan mastiff.
