The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia reorganized the work of several institutions of higher learning in Moscow. We are talking about the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin, Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman and Moscow State Law University named Kutafin.
Orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia touched upon the work of the six metropolitan universities, RIA Novosti reported. Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze was attached to the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after Gubkin. Moscow State Forest University became part of the Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman. State University of Management joined the Moscow State Law University Kutafin.
In Office, explained, in 2015 the Ministry of Education received complaints from the academic councils of the universities with a mutual proposal for unification. They were discussed in detail at the meeting of the special commission, which was attended by representatives of universities, rectors of the university council of Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as representatives of trade union organizations.
At the end of the discussion, all the proposals were supported. “Russian Ministry of Education will monitor the observance of the rights of students in the course of all reorganization measures”, – the ministry said.
The process of merger of state universities more active in Russia in the mid-2000s. In 2012, the Minister of Education and Science Dmitry Livanov stressed that such steps “pursue one single goal – to improve the students’ learning environment, improving the quality of education and increasing the level of scientific research”
