“Rostelecom” organized the second national competition “Thanks Internet 2016″ – TVNZ

first All-Russian contest “Thanks Internet 2015″ was held from April 22 to October 1, 2015. The contest was sent more than 2,000 works from 78 regions of Russian Federation and Republic of Armenia . Bidders have become more 2,000 of the older generation of Internet users (50+), trained to work on the computer and the network, both independently and have completed specialized computer courses.

The competition aroused great interest among the older citizens (50 +). It was attended by 13.8% of men, 86.2% women. The oldest participant was 92 years old, the oldest participant – 88 years. 40% of the work came from the rural areas. 85.3% of participants completed computer literacy courses, 15.7% – self-trained, including by means of the textbook “The ABC of the Internet.” 40% of participants – working pensioners. Almost 30% of them managed to stay on the job through the study of computers and the Internet. In addition, 15% of the work mentioned that the study of the Internet has helped to find a new job or gainful employment.

Also, according to the results of the competition was made up activity rating of regions on computer literacy of older citizens. The winner in the nomination “The most active region” became the Krasnoyarsk Territory. From Krasnoyarsk pensioners received more than 10% of all works submitted to the contest. Also in the top 10 active regions included: Rostov region – 8,4%, Tverskaya the region – 6.6%, Nizhny Novgorod region – 6.5%, Saint – Petersburg – 4,4%, Republic of Bashkortostan – 4,0%, Moscow region – 3, 5%, Kurgan area – 2.8%, Samara region – 2.7%, Republic of RT – 2, 6%

Training Manual and the online portal “ABC Internet” developed in the framework of signed 22 January 2014 Agreement between PJSC “Rostelecom” and the Pension Fund Russian on cooperation in the training of senior citizens computer skills. The aim of cooperation is to facilitate the access of retirees to the production of public services in electronic form via the Internet and improve quality of life by means of computer literacy and the Internet.

Materials curriculum and training manuals, “The ABCs of Internet” got a review of the Institute of informatization of education of the Russian Academy of education. From the conclusion of the Institute implies that the materials submitted for review meet all the requirements for teaching materials, published timely, useful and necessary audience to which they are addressed.
