The reason for the accident “Progress M-27M” launched to the ISS on April 28 was an unintended third division stage rocket and the cargo ship. This is stated in the message space agency, received by RBC.

The Russian Space Agency said that the cause of damage became a “design feature” sharing “progress” and the carrier rocket “Soyuz-2.1a.” The Commission found that this feature has not been fully taken into account during the development work.

«Restrictions on the further operation of the carrier rocket” Soyuz-2.1a “with other spacecraft have been identified,” – They stressed in Roskosmos. Currently, the agency is developing an action plan for testing the space complex.

The department also added that on 9 June will be determined to adjust the timetable of the program of manned launches in 2015, including the transport of cargo ships.

The launch vehicle “Soyuz 2.1a” with the cargo ship “Progress” went to the ISS from Baikonur Cosmodrome on April 28. After separation of the third stage of the ship ceased to do telemetry, he did not come into the proper orbit. Repeated attempts to regain control of the device have failed. May 8 “Progress” was burned up in the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean after an uncontrolled descent from orbit.

Earlier, representatives of the State Commission stated that the reason for the emergency start could be the third-stage depressurization of tanks due to violations of technology in their manufacture. Another possible cause of the incident called the increased load on the third stage.

The truck was supposed to deliver to the ISS necessary for the flight crew station fuel, oxygen, equipment for scientific experiments, parcels for cosmonauts and astronauts gifts for crew members in May holidays, as well as food. After the loss of “progress” the astronauts said that the station has everything you need for the continuation of the mission.
