The American biologists have learned to calculate floor residents of the house, the ratio of men and women in it, and its geographic location by what bacteria and fungi are present in house dust. Conclusions and technique scientists have been published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, on the results of the experiments briefly tells the press service of the University of Colorado.

According to N + 1 , this idea came up in November Firer and his colleagues in the study of the diversity of microbes and fungi that lived in the homes of 1,200 families of Americans who agreed to participate in the study “microbial zoo,” in terms of scientists, which is present in each apartment and room.

As the researchers note, in every home they have found a huge number of fungi and bacteria – an average of about 5000 strains of bacteria and nearly two thousand species of fungi. And those and others were a kind of “passport”, is almost unmistakably someone who lives in an apartment or a house and where he or she is.

For example, the list of types of fungi, and the proportion of their representatives in the House is a geographical part of the “passport”.
