Ottawa, August 21, 2015, 21:45 – REGNUM Scientists from the University of Victoria in Canada ranked the most effective predators planet, reports The Daily Mail. Report on the work published in the journal Science.

After analyzing more than two thousand species of marine and terrestrial predators, experts have concluded that the effectiveness of the extermination of other species none of them can compare to the super-predator – man.

Over the past 500 years because of the person on the planet disappeared 322 animal species, according to scientists, based on mathematical analysis. For example, bears, lions and wolves are killed by human hands nine times more than in the battles between them. Sharks and killer whales from death of man, and not from the teeth facing each other 14 times more often.

A man violates the laws of many wildlife, said study leader Professor Chris Darimont. In particular, it destroys healthy animals of reproductive age needed to maintain the population, instead of attacking the young, sick or injured animals, like other predators.
