The British company Intelligent Energy has developed a system of power that will allow smartphones to work for a week without recharging. This was told the publication The Telegraph. According to the source, Intelligent Energy has created a working prototype of the iPhone 6, which combines traditional rechargeable battery with and a proprietary battery that generates energy from the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen and generates only a small amount of fluid and heat as a “waste”.
It is noted that the company is working closely to Apple. The very same Apple, traditionally abstains from comments. Although the idea of fuel cells for mobile devices is not new, feature development is that the new system of power managed to build a modern iPhone 6 without changing the size or shape of the device. According to the company, such was able to realize for the first time.
The only cosmetic change from the usual iPhone 6 – additional ventilation holes on the rear panel, which are necessary to water vapor could easily evaporate.
In the prototype, which reporters saw The Telegraph in the laboratory Intelligent Energy, charging hydrogen is produced through the headphone jack. For commercial model is supposed to create replacement cartridges, which is a slot at the bottom of future smartphones. It is assumed that a cartridge can ensure the normal operation of the smartphone week without recharging. Currently Intelligent Energy expects the retail price of the cartridge.
