CAIRO, October 1 – RIA Novosti, Margarita Kislov. Egypt going to the end of 2015 to complete the verification of the theory of British archaeologist Nicholas Reeves about the possible location of the tomb of Queen Nefertiti of the false wall of the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor in southern Egypt, said Thursday the Minister of antiquities and cultural heritage Mamdouh al-Damato.

“If the tomb is indeed detected, it will be a discovery, which is equivalent to the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922 – discovery of the century” – the minister said. According to him, the ministry is now stepping up work on the study of the tomb of Tutankhamun with the help of modern technology, including radar, and promises that the work will not cause any harm to the world priceless monument.

British archaeologist Nicholas Reeves some time ago put forth a sensational theory according to which the lost tomb of one of the greatest and most beautiful queens of ancient Egypt Nefertiti, who died ten years before the tragic death of his adopted son of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, is behind the false north wall of the tomb of Tutankhamun in Luxor . This, according to the scientist, indicates a lot of facts, including, – continues beyond the northern wall of the ceiling, which indicates a secret chamber previously is likely part of a single funeral hall. According to Reeves, after the sudden death of a young 19-year-old pharaoh, who reigned only nine years old, he was buried in the tomb of the adoptive mother as his own tomb for him to build did not have time.

Nicholas Reeves, at the invitation of the Ministry of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage of Egypt , recently I visited Luxor and visited the tomb of Tutankhamun. According to the scientist, he confirmed many of their own assumptions, and considers it necessary to continue a deeper study of this monument in the hope of success.

Almost untouched by robbers discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922. This discovery was one of the major sensations in Egyptology for all time. Nefertiti, which is considered the foster mother and the wife of Tutankhamen Pharaoh Akhenaten, was one of the most powerful and beautiful women of her time. Scientists still have not been able to unravel the mystery of the resting place of Queen, whose name translates as “Beautiful has come”.
