MOSCOW, Aug 14 – RIA Novosti . The need to transfer the landing of the Russian expedition to the moon at a later date is not critical, but the offensive, told RIA Novosti member of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after KE Tsiolkovsky Alexander Zheleznyakov.

Earlier, the media reported that Roskosmos due to budget savings transferred tentative dates landing Russian cosmonauts to the Moon in 2029 for the years 2033-2034.

“On the one hand, it is clear that the lack of funds forces sacrifice something, in this case, the Moon and some other projects in the field of development of deep space. But on the other – very sorry that we put off again for several years our possible mission to the Moon, would love to go there, “- said Zhelezniakov.

According to him, the program of this expedition and construction of a lunar base would not only be a political move, but also to promote the development of space rocket technology. The academician said that all large-scale projects such as the American program “Apollo” and the Soviet system “Energia-Buran” is a kind of driving force in scientific and technological progress and draw not only the space industry, but also the accompanying, often far from the Space.

“Of course, some will be dealt a blow to our development of astronautics, but it is not so critical, because other projects are still under implementation, so the development of space exploration will not stop. But it is a pity that we do not know when the moon flight” , – he added.
