The scientists want to find out how weightlessness affect the taste of the drink

The Japanese company is going to send to the ISS three kinds of whiskey, aged for 10, 18 and 21 years to see how weightlessness affect the taste of the drink, according to Agence France-Presse.

whiskey producers believe that conditions on board the ISS – weightlessness and a constant temperature – can make the beverage taste softer. When the whiskey comes back to Earth, the tasters determine whether their expectations were justified.

Sending barrels into space is expected in about a month. The company says that is not going to use the “space” of whiskey for commercial purposes.
