Scientists: Selective preservation of positive information affects the memory of the elderly – RIA “swap”

For the study, the researchers created a special test, in which the data memories of the participants of the experiment were used. The volunteers were asked to recall moments of life with different emotional component.

The research was attended by 32 people (21 women and 11 men). The average age of the subjects was 74.8 years. Volunteers shared their stories, and then they had to recount all the details that they remembered. Such a task they were repeated 20 minutes after the first presentation, and a week later. Scientists have made it clear that none of the participants in the experiment did not have serious problems with memory. Based on the research findings, the researchers came to the conclusion that people are more positive aspects of memory, lose memory in other parts of memories.
