The finds date back to the I century BC. In all likelihood, the owner of the coins in the past, put them in his basement, and then for some reason disappeared, after which the coins were lost. While coins in ancient ceramic amphora have become not only valuable objects found in the basement, on the values of both historical and factual, they are far superior to all other findings. As archaeologists say, two thousand years ago, the owner of these coins had to be very wealthy person – only 2 denarius in those days it was possible to rent for a month the whole house, and the soldiers in the past month service paid about 10 deniers

Denard. They were among the most common coins in the territories that were under the authority or influence of Rome and one of the few silver coins of the time. Name denarii translated as “consisting of ten”, and they can see the Roman numeral X, reminds us of this value.

According to Italian researchers, the excavations in the city of Emporia has been going on for over a century, and during that time this territory pleases professionals new and unique finds. This city was founded by the ancient Greeks in 575 BC, and from the I century BC, was a Roman colony.

Recall recently old – although, of course, is not nearly as old as the Roman – coins found Russian archaeologists who have studied previously detected road workers at the Theater Square in Moscow tavern of the XVIII century, which, as it turned out, stood on this spot for over 50 years, “surviving” at least four emperors and empresses.
