Archaeologists have found the oldest in Russia ancient temple – TV channel REN TV

Archaeologists have discovered in the excavations of the ancient Phanagoria Temryuk district of the Krasnodar Territory is the oldest ancient temple on the territory of the Russian Federation. This was reported in the “Free case” the press service of the Foundation, supporting excavations.

This predecessor -. the type of the temple of the ancient era, the so-called “temple in antis” .

The building is made up of tiny pronaos (semi-open part between the entrance portico and the SPLA – a kind of lobby) and the SPLA (in fact, the very temple premises). It was built of mud bricks without foundation, in the tradition of the oldest buildings Phanagoria.

The precise age of the findings could not be determined yet.

Note Phanagoria, founded in the middle of the VI century BC Greek settlers, has long been one of the two capitals of the Russian public education – Bosporus Kingdom.
